When <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/Modernizr\/Modernizr\/pull\/684#issuecomment-8354231\">I called him out<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/Modernizr\/Modernizr\/pull\/684#issuecomment-8359274:~:text=The%20specific%20feature%20detect%2C%20in%20as%20much%20as%20it%27s%20wrapped%20in%20a%20form%20that%20Modernizr%20can%20use%2C%20is%20actually%20by%20me%20though%20%3A\/.\">he gave me a weak apology<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It has recently come to my attention that Addy has raised the ranks in Google to become an engineering leader. I don&#8217;t know if this plagiarism was ever reported to his manager before, so I&#8217;m reporting it now. I don&#8217;t think that Addy exemplifies the qualities that Google wants in an engineering leader.<\/p>\n<p>He had the audacity to prefix his apology with <q>The specific feature detect, [\u2026], is actually by me though :\/.<\/q> instead of just giving me a straightforward and heartfelt apology.<\/p>\n<p>It is my belief that people who commit plagiarism and are inadequately repentant should not hold leadership positions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Back in 2011, Addy Osmani plagiarized my open source code by claiming to have written it himself.
