Addy Osmani’s plagiarism

Back in 2011, Addy Osmani plagiarized my open source code by claiming to have written it himself. When I called him out, he gave me a weak apology.

It has recently come to my attention that Addy has raised the ranks in Google to become an engineering leader. I don’t know if this plagiarism was ever reported to his manager before, so I’m reporting it now. I don’t think that Addy exemplifies the qualities that Google wants in an engineering leader.

He had the audacity to prefix his apology with The specific feature detect, […], is actually by me though :/. instead of just giving me a straightforward and heartfelt apology.

It is my belief that people who commit plagiarism and are inadequately repentant should not hold leadership positions.
